Adhirasam by Chellam Canteen

Traditional sweets continue to remain evergreen this festive season too. And if you wish to savoury and gift your friends and relatives only the very best of traditional South Indian sweets and snacks, Chellam Canteen is one such place at Ponnaiyarajapuram, where you will find them. This commercial establishment has been in the business of making and selling South Indian sweets and snacks for the last five decades.

“Do try our Bayilwan mixture. This one is named after the founder Chellam Canteen, Bayilwan Doraiswami.” Raja from this commercial establishment explains to us that this mixture is not too spicy yet twisty. He also shares with us that this mixture tastes best when paired with their Adhirasam. This south Indian traditional sweet has many takers. “We use Anjali sunflower oil to make our sweets and snacks. At our canteen the oil is used to make only one batch of sweets or snacks. We do not re-use the oil. Only the best quality ingredients are used to make sweets and snacks. Thus, we are able to maintain our quality and consistency for th past five decades” Raja shares.
